I am John White! I am a 19 year old Professional Photographer. I have been shooting photos for over two years and I love it. I am also a full time Graphic Designer and Videographer and have a lot of work done in both fields.

My Story (the short version)

I started shooting photography by what I consider to be fate. I purchased my first DSLR in 2011 so that I could shoot more professional looking videos. I had a huge passion for video editing at the time and had wanted to pursue that as my career. I saved up all my paychecks from a summer and fall job just to get my camera and I was halfway to finally getting enough and my Dad pitched in to help me get it and finally start shooting! Once I had it in my hands, I carried it everywhere and still do today. After shooting video for a few months, I went to a local concert and brought my dad’s really old camera flash to play with and use to take photos. I shot some really bad images that night, not going to lie. Something awesome that happened was I ended up getting tagged in a photo the next day on Facebook by my now good friend and other professional photographer, Aaron Brown. He was shooting photos of the band that night as well. I browsed through his photos from the night and was blown away and really interested in how he would use off-camera flash to light the scene and how his images just look AWESOME. I took a huge interest in wondering how he set everything up. He was really cool and met with me for a coffee a few nights later and gave me a TON of information in regards to photography, how to start, information on different equipment and even more. From there, it only went uphill! I started using my paychecks to buy new photography gear and not just new video equipment and also I found myself looking up editing tips for shooting more often then I was doing homework. I was hooked.

During the year following, I was given awesome opportunities to do work with a photography studio in Chicago, Phlearn, I assisted and shadowed weddings with Aaron and a few other local artists, booked my own clients, and started learning my camera better than most kids know their phones. I learned so much and started booking my own photoshoots with clients and building my portfolio more and more each day. I had officially started taking photography more as a job then a playful hobby and I was loving every bit of it. Skip forward another year and a over 30,000+  more photos and I am still working hard to get better each day and book shoots to build awesome photos that I share with everyone. I shoot a portrait of some sort at least 5 out of 7 days a week and never let myself take a break.  Photography has become apart of my daily life and I don’t see it leaving anytime soon.
